With the development of technology in the area of information dissemination and a recognition of a dearth of information on the Jamaican Parliament, the administrative arm of the Parliament has decided to establish and maintain a web-site with some pertinent information on the structure and functions of the Parliament. The information is by no means exhaustive and will be subject to constant review and update. It is my fervent hope that the information provided will be useful to those doing research and those wishing to be au fait with matters relating to the Jamaican Parliament.
The development of this web-site is a collaborative effort between the Houses of Parliament and the Ministry of
Industry, Commerce and Technology. I would like to express particular appreciation to the staff of the Houses of Parliament who made invaluable contribution in researching and compiling the information for the web-site.
I hope that through this medium there will be greater interaction between the Parliament and the general public, including civil society. |
