The Industry Division of the Ministry has responsibility for the
free zone policy. The Ministry is to house the Secretariat for the
Free Zone Council, which deals with applications for free zone status,
including Single Entity Free Zones..
In addition to the Single Entity
Free Zones, the major free zone areas are as follows:
- Kingston Free Zone
- Montego Bay Free Zone
- Garmex Free Zone
The Industry Division also facilitates
firms which move goods from the free zone to the Customs Territory.
The Division also works in close
collaboration with JAMPRO on matters relating to the free zones.
